Listening-cum-Reading and write the summary

Dear Students,

Welcome to our New Class Blog, which is similar to our Class Wiki.

I hereby send you the file linking the rubrics for working on the task/exercises related to online listening-cum-reading activity. To download / view the rubrics, Sankarakumar_Rubrics

Step 1: First you need to download the video from TED Talks / You tube related to Harsha Bogle's 'Small Change Big Revolution'. Here, he talks about Indian Cricket - T20 Revolution. Harsha Bhogle_the rise of cricket_the rise of India
Step 2: If you are not able to access it, download from my Interactive power point from Sankarakumar_Interactive Power Point

Step 3: Read the transcript, think and identify the topic sentence of each paragraph.

Step 4: Discuss with your colleague or neighbour and confirm the topic sentences.

Step 5: Write the summary of the transcript

    Hi..iam kavin(11x019)...The video is very intresting.sir your ppt is very nice..

    SUMMARY:
    The latest episode of india's may be world longest running soap opera.the cricket has got love,happines,sadness,tears,laughter and lot of deceit.there was time when you played cricket you played timeless test match .
    but there is one reason why india fell in love with cricket .people compared cricket with mahabharata .In mahabharata they use fight full day same the players follow in test match.
    In 1983 INDIA has won world cup.1991 and 1992
    the finance minister and prime minister willing to led the world look at INDIA.
    after we wont world cup multination came to india for only reason"CRICKET".cricket become big and bring riches.Though england discover the T20...but india hijacked T20 from england..and become champions in T20..

    I'm Gowthaman.M(11x012) of class B.ScCT(G1)...
    ya ofcourse I had a great time in the class with all the stuffs you showed...
    let me give my summary below..,
    ....................CRICKET....................
    India's longest running opera is Cricket.Cricket wasn't that much speed-driven generation game like the T20.The reason why Indians fell in love with the cricket is that they had the same pace of life and we need just a bat and a ball.Harsha says "In Indian sport we don't make things happen,accidents happen and we're at the right time and right place 'sometimes'". Cricket flourished only after the World cup.After that Multinations came to India , make cricket bigger and Invites the Richest into it.Cricket will be forever because it's not in the mind of people it is in the heart of the people.

    The Topic Sentences are:
    The cricket has a small change leads to a very big revolution.The cricket wasn't always this speed-driven generations game.The difference between Mahabharata and our cricket game.The cricket is very interesting because that is reasonable fell in love with cricket.In 1983 the Indian cricketers won the world cup.The cricket for a long time in India was always organized.You could play many games in one small pitch of land ,even if you didn't know which game you were actually in. So we moved on and we started playing 50-over cricket.The scripted one is what you see in the movies,the real one was cricket.Pepsi was this big revolution,because may started taking cricket allover.India had to go and played T20 world cup.If he had bow lest fast,the ball would have gone where it was meant to go.But the people getting into these city leagues were people who where taking their cues from the west.
    The home of leagues said"Right,we"ll build some glitz here in India.So the cricket is beautiful,nice,simple and family game.

    It is nice to watch the presentation with the video you shown in the class..
    Here the summary of the passage..
    A longest running soap opera which is cricket offers joy, sadness,tears,laughter...Cricket wasn't always this speed driven generation game.
    Cricket is like a "Mahabharatha". Because in cricket everybody comeback and fight the next day. There is another reason why India fell in love with cricket which was a plank of wood and a ball.So we can play anywhere and also moved on 50 over cricket. India's PM and Finance Minister willing to let world look at India,when we won the world cup in1983.England invented the T20 and the India started T20.The only 2 areas in which India was proud about their country one is Army and another is Cricket.

    Hello Sir.....
    I am Bharani Dharan(11x007) of II-Bsc.CT G1......
    its a very nice and interesting video which you showed in the class...(but i didn't understand some part of the video before reading the transcript!!!!!) and i tried my level best.
    Summary:
    The longest running soap which is cricket which offers many feelings of life such as joy,sorrow,excitement etc.In last 20 years cricket has changed from test to ODI and now from ODI audience interest changes to 20-20 cricket which plays major role in our economy this recent years. The concept of IPL in India had spoiled both talents of cricketer and respect on the Game.This IPL was orgins only when India won the first T20 world cup which was tournament was opposed by India at initial. A victory changes everyone's every interest and thoughts.To be honest,IPL leads to certain unbelievable incidents like An Indian hugging a Pakisthani !.Big shots who not supports their nation but supports their teams.The Saddest part is players are selected through "Money".
    To say in short "A Good game which has many bad views".

    I am Ramachandran(11x031) .
    The video was nice to watch.. it gave me an idea how to be so interactive in handling a speech on stage .The topic was nice according to me nowadays cricket had became a part of our life b'cos any number of people can play any where.
    But as much we are giving importance to cricket we are not even giving to our national game


    Summary:
    India won the world cup in the captain ship of kapildev in 1983 and its gets a long time to won a world cup at that time T20 was introduced England invented it and forces other countries to play.....

    The India's latest episode, the longest running soap opera is the cricket.It gives people joy,love and sadness. And there are timeless match played like from 3rd to 14th march in 1939. Cricket is like mahabharatha involves fights. India likes cricket because they love plank of wood and rubber ball and can be played anywhere like bank of Ganges. We won world cup in1983.     Hello sir This is Noodhana from Material Science 12PM09.. It was great time watching this video..It was good to see Harsha Bhogle with the magic of humours he does always ...I would like to sum up the video as Growing Culture of India...Indians are trying to prove themself in the game of cricket..and we do toil for the victory.. Its the game which unites people Wherever it is played..We need to be more organised and focus on the stuffs of better progress..People Stay United under cricket ..why not INDIA be CRICKET from now..??? No one can stop us ..!!!

    Hello sir am pranesh(11x028) from Bsc-ct(g1)...the video that you showed in class made every one enthusiastic and to listen closely to it and the man harsha bhogle with his hilarious talks and with some of memorable INDIA's victories as T20 CHAMPS and finally the video thought us how to face housefull crowd at ease .....!!!
    My views:
    well,the game cricket became a part of each and every indian specially after the world cup victory under the captainship of kapil dev in 1983 and after that as harsha said indians played cricket in streets with hundred windows and in sea shores and so cricket is a fabulous game of which the focus in players eyes and the tension in spectators eyes and so the pressure mounting on the last ball of the match do decide a winner and so it became a mamoth rise in india about the game cricket...but i think change in the 20overs format made the game little speedy but the players still around the world say test cricket is the best cricket but ipl came in a way to set a platform for youngsters and to take cricket to the next level it doesn't kill the spirit of game at all but i always say test cricket is the best because there is 5days of play in which we can identify the real cricketer's game in strokes of batsmen and varoius seam bowling of bowlers whereas T20 is all about hitting sixes from 1st ball and containing the overs...and i prefer cricket can be made as our national game without a doubt and soon it will be our national game in future ...!!!!!!thank you sir bye......!!!!!

    Hello sir.., this is ABINAYA 11X002 from Bsc ct g1.., I watched the video about cricket and it was fabulous.. here is my view about it!!!
    The latest happening in India or world is about cricket, Where there is an endless match played by our team that started on 3rd march and ended on 14th in 1939. It ended because the england cricketers have to return to Capetown. Cricket gives the people love, joy and sadness. Cricket is like Mahabaratha. The difference is everyone is alive to fight on next day. In India cricket can be played anywhere like streets etc..It does not require perfect ground. The very important year, In 1992 multinationals came to India and they found two vehicles to reach people. One is what we watch in movie and other is cricket. English people are very good at inventing things and they invented T20. And in India cricket is organised.
